The Work Wives
The Work Wives Bio:
Michele Meyer, Diane Taylor and Kelly Markle
We call ourselves the Work Wives because we support, collaborate, and have a passion for each of our careers in education. We are 6 and 7 year teachers who have experience in a variety of elementary classrooms. All of us hold our Masters in Education from NYS institutes and Kelly has completed her Administrative Degree. Diane and Michele are currently classroom teachers in New York State and Kelly recently accepted a position as the Math Coordinator of Genesee Valley Educational Partnership. Our teaching style would be considered eclectic. It is like having an iPod full of a range of music from classical to Rock to R&B. We pride ourselves for taking what works in traditional teaching and infusing it with the modern times. We hold high expectations for our students and believe that they are capable of achieving the high standards set by the Common Core if given the appropriate tools, resources and support. Together we have created a way for teachers to embrace the Math Common Core State Standards across grade levels. We are currently in the process of publishing our first book entitled The Math GNOMe: Creating the Math Common Core Classroom. For more on the Work Wives and Creating Common Core Classrooms visit http://workwives.blogspot.com/. We hope that you will find our posts useful and our little Common Core Tips can be a resource for teachers, parents, and fellow colleagues in the education field looking for more teaching tools and information on the Common Core Standards.
