In the Common Core Curriculum, it is crucial that students have the ability to dissect nonfiction materials and gain a complete and thorough understanding of this type of text. In this month’s workshop, students will work backwards to understand nonfiction text by researching various topics and creating a nonfiction class newspaper that others will read for understanding. This backwards approach allows students to explore the writing process of nonfiction text, therefore making it easier to dissect when they are reading. November 6th, 13th, 20th. 6:00-7:00pm.
