Take your seat, strap in, and get ready to travel at lightspeed! Join us as we fly through a galaxy far, far away and take a more in-depth look at one of the most popular science fiction movies of our time, Star Wars: A New Hope. To prepare ourselves, we will first take a look at some of George Lucas’ biggest influences in creating his epic masterpiece, the films of Akira Kurosawa and Flash Gordon serials, among others. Campers will then examine the main characters of Star Wars: A New Hope in detail, relationships between the characters, the search for a hero, and more! Finally, the jump to lightspeed! We will watch Star Wars: A New Hope and analyze it as we go. After enjoying the film, students will play games based on the franchise, create their own characters, or create an alternate ending/story! July 21-25, 12:30-3:30pm. Suggested Ages: 12-18.
