Students in grades 5-8 are invited to join us as we read Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carman in this exciting book club. Students will experience this book in a unique and thrilling manner, reading the words of a young boy’s journal, and watching corresponding videos that the students unlock with passwords given throughout the book. We will work together to solve the mystery presented in this suspenseful story, write in our own personal journals and engage in themed activities. A light snack will be provided at each session. Please bring a copy of the book.

Ryan and Sarah are best friends who love a good mystery. In the first book of the series, the friends search to find the secrets of their town and the name that was given to it: “Skeleton Creek.” When the two go exploring in the middle of the night, something scares Ryan causing him to fall and break his leg. As a result, Ryan and Sarah’s parents ban them from seeing each other. Now, Ryan and Sarah must solve the mystery in secret. What scared Ryan? Why was it there? Is it after them? We follow along on their mystery while reading Ryan’s thoughts in his journal, their emails to each other, and watching Sarah’s videos. February 14, 21, and 28. 6:30-8:00pm. Grades 5-8. Instructor: Colleen McNamara. $39
